My Foreign Life Right Now!

Phew, I have hanged the whole exhibition with the use of only one finger - one which was showing my dear husband where to hang the works on the walls of Tea Tree Tea! Luckily a divorce is not looming over even that the hanging took us longer then expected (all these coffees in between hammering the nails in!).
I promise to feature some images soon, too.

I am especially excited about the limited edition t-shirts. I am going to hand stitch some of the elements of the designs, to make them more unique, so pricing is still to be arranged. I was planning to open an Etsy shop soon anyway, so it will be great to roadtest the designs before that!

I hope that many of you will visit 13 Bread Street in August for the exhibition (I know that the time is precious during the Festival, but it is honestly, the friendliest place in Edinburgh! and there are going to be other attractions during all August weekends - like... mind reading! How cool is that!). See you there!

Getting ready

My exhibition was supposed to go up on Sunday but as I went today to the gallery/cafe for a cup of a soya latte, the walls were empty already! It turns out that a person having a show before mine, decided to wind down their expo earlier and just left the place with sad empty walls full of patches of a torn down paint. So my favourite hang out place cries desperately for my happy works to be hang there asap and there is still so many things to do!

I decided not to have an opening party but a closing one and it is going to be very unofficial party anyway!

P.S. I am just wondering why my hands holding the frame with the Coco drawing (she is the cutest dog in the whole of Edinburgh and we happen to live in the same building!) are of two different colours?!

Commisions and...

Some of my illustrations are going to be featured in October issue of the biggest Polish female magazine Twoj STyl. I cannot wait to see them in print. Now I hope you do understand why there was such a gap in posting on this blog!

Here is a sneak-peak; as usual click on the image to see it much bigger!

...exhibitions

I managed to print all the huuuuuges prints for the exhibition during last Friday at the college and pressure mount them - I still have all my fingers intact though it was a narrow escape...

The medium size ones are already in nice, wooden frames (see the image) and the official opening is scheaduled for next week - I will be hanging the whole exhibition in Tea Tree Tea in 13 Bread Street, Edinburgh on Sunday. I am still not sure when and if at all prepare an official opening.

Scottish blend

I am preparing two big horizontal illustrations for the biggest walls of the exhibition space. Horizontal format is a tricky one and so far I came up with very obvious solutions only - like Edinburgh's skyline featured in this drawing. Any ideas?
As usual - please do click on the image to see it bigger!

No Smoking

One thing I really like about UK is their no smoking in public places policy. I have never been a smoker and so far Saturday nights out were a nightmare from which one emerged with everything, including underpants, stinking with some other people's reek. It is such a relief now.
